This little heart is made of cherry wood, finished with boiled linen seed oil. I'm really not sure what are the measurements, sorry, but it's small...you can judge rough size by my fingers there. Anyway, this is made for a friend, for Valentines, to show even wounded hearts can start healing, with proper nourishment *** Now, excuse me for making this comment long, but few of you asked and I see no better way to explain few things (like what I did with realMaylar , as someone pointed). I know those who follow my work are accustomed on mix of paintings, drawings and miniature books, with this and that in between. Well, now is "between". As some of you know, for time being I'm at friend's house...that is why my "creating" abilities are bit limited (I did bring some, but not all of my material with me ). Until my return home (which should be next week, probably), I keep myself busy with things I can do here, like woodworking. Basically I steal my friends chisels and some wood and play with it I know I'm not a perfect woodworker, this heart is only my third piece ever, but I like playing and these few things I made so far seem decent enough (to me) to put them here, so I do. But soon I'll submit something of my usual work style, promise. This explanation is added especially for Mielli, Nenad and Sofia, who noted me to ask what a h..l is going on. Everything ok guys, don't worry
Glad you like it, thank you so much ^^ As for expanding...well, I'm of those who will try anything at least once...few times in life that hit me back real bad, but mostly proved as a good way to live a life, so I stick with it
I love doing things for my friends (and it helps me easily find space for my art ) And, oh, yes, very relaxing...I just love removing tiniest bits of wood, until it gets smooth enough ^^ Glad you like it
i thought you carved it from a potato at first and got very excited haha..its still very cool tho! but..i hate to say it..but i hate the word usage of style when referencing an individuals artworks. it doesnt make sense. It does however have your personality, based on the works ive seen on your page.
Haha, why potato would be cooler than wood? As for word usage...well, it's ok for you to hate it and I understand what you wanna say, but here it is used more as a figure of speech and trust me, harmless enough...I think (hope) most people here understand that. As for the word usage, well there were/are people who created or started original styles, so sometimes it can be used when referencing to individuals. We probably agree this time that's not a case, as this little thingy shows no particular style of woodcarving, but yes, possible my personality (and technically I like smooth surfaces+bit darkish, hart touching themes). As I said, "style" here was used more as a figure of speech
I can see that, youre right! Sorry, sometimes my little pet peeves come off as a little too strong! And nah wood is very cool, haha i just thought they were potato shaped hearts or something , i dont know i have potato on the brain or something i draw sooo many of them haha!
No need for sorry, I tend to agree in general As for potatoes, well I love them too (in all forms, yum ^^) so perhaps one day you just might see me making one of potato hearts too
