As for expanding...well, I'm of those who will try anything at least once...few times in life that hit me back real bad, but mostly proved as a good way to live a life, so I stick with it
And, oh, yes, very relaxing...I just love removing tiniest bits of wood, until it gets smooth enough ^^

As for word usage...well, it's ok for you to hate it and I understand what you wanna say, but here it is used more as a figure of speech and trust me, harmless enough...I think (hope) most people here understand that.
As for the word usage, well there were/are people who created or started original styles, so sometimes it can be used when referencing to individuals.
We probably agree this time that's not a case, as this little thingy shows no particular style of woodcarving, but yes, possible my personality (and technically I like smooth surfaces+bit darkish, hart touching themes). As I said, "style" here was used more as a figure of speech
As for potatoes, well I love them too (in all forms, yum ^^) so perhaps one day you just might see me making one of potato hearts too
