Description

Here's a miniature voodoo set.
This was planned to be shown some time ago, only I was too sick to do any work, so it had to wait.

Before the details, few words. As probably most of you know (and some probably don't), Voodoo is a religion and a very serious one, too. I have friends who practice it and for that and many other reasons, I want to say: it is not my intention to offend someone with this, nor this can be taken as a full and serious presentation of Voodoo. It is more of a colorful remainder, than anything else. Truth to be told, I recently played a very interesting game based on Voodoo and it partially inspired me to do this.

Even the veve (the symbol) is a real one and belongs to Papa Legba, loa of spiritual crossroads, doors, roads and similar, the rest of the presentation is not connected with this loa and I did that on purpose. As I said, I wanted more general set, than one particular ritual and well...I didn't want this possibly abused in any way, if you understand me.

Anyway, without prolonging this more than necessary, here's some details for you:

Voodoo Doll - 1.8 cm/0.70 inch. Linen, filled with cotton and sewn (not glued).

Pins/pin stand - 4 mm/ 0.15 inch. high, the stand is 5 mm/0.19 inch.wide. Thin stainless steel wire, sharpened on one end and a red resin drop on the other end...they're basically the real pins, only hand-made. The stand is made of cork.

Veve - 4 cm/1.96 inch. wide/high Veve of Papa Legba. Paper is tea dyed (Earl Grey) and later burned on the ends. Indian ink used for drawing.

Candles and the stand - 2 cm/0.78 inch (stand is some 5 mm/0.19 alone). White wax candles (hand-made). The stand is air dry clay.

Bowls - 8 mm/0.31 inch Polymer clay, painted and then finished with gloss finish. The offerings are: red - terracotta powder, green - mix of tea, brown - rosehip tea. All sealed with translucent finish.

Cockerel leg - 2.5 cm/0.98 inch (together with feathers) . Leg is made of polymer clay, painted with watercolors and finished with gloss finish. Feathers are made of artificial hair (the black one) and the special paper (white and red one). All later painted and sealed with translucent finish.

All you see is hand made and done from a scratch. All unique, of course. For those interested, it is on sale, but currently it is not posted on my Etsy. Just note me if you have questions.

If you wanna see a video of this, here it is:

I truly hope you like it :)
