Last of my woodworks done at my friend's house (and last for some time, as I will have to concentrate on some other things in next days)...
There was a piece of cherry wood that would end up in garbage probably (it has that small knot/stain, which is visible on mushroom stalk). As still more practicing, than working seriously I decided to "save it" and make something of it ^^
I love mushrooms, so it was an easy choice...tried to make this one to look realistic, on purpose irregular on places and with few cuts and breaks...hopefully, I succeeded.
Mushroom is little less than 4 cm (1.57 inch) high. Finished with boiled linseed oil .
You did a great job on this, and it's so cute! It looks especially real from underneath; I used to pick mushrooms with a knife, and this is very reminiscent of the real thing when you slice it off. The colouring underneath helps to add to that, as they're made mostly of water, and vary in hue across the inside.
I like your Work

I've made a mushroom out of wood, using the old-fashiond way of wood-turning
And Thanks, glad you like it
Yes , elegant.
I guess it would make a bit crunchy salad
