Here is a rather special addition to my gallery and you will soon find out why (keep reading

).
First, some specifications: books are mix of perfect bind and hard covers, hand painted and gilded with gold/silver/bronze paint. Size is 2 x 1.8 cm (around 0.70 x 0.70 inch). Pages are dyed in chamomile tea, which gives them incredible green/yellow coloration. I planned filling these books with heraldry symbols, but my schedule these days is simply a killing one, so there was no chance for that

Books covers wear the three mythological animals and heraldry symbols: golden dragon, silver unicorn and bronze gryphon.
Finally, what is so special about it? Well, they're actually the prizes for the small contest I'm holding, beginning very, very soon

So, yeah, you will get a chance to win these, or better said, one of them. Winner will get the red one (golden dragon), 2nd place the blue one (silver unicorn) and the 3rd place will win the green book (bronze gryphon).
The beginning and the rules of the contest will be announced in my journal and I'll probably make a news article about it as well, hopefully in the next few days (again, all because killing schedule).
So, stay tuned

and hope you like this

These are brilliant. I really love the colours and the symbolic animals you chose; I think they go together wonderfully! The spines and backs (with fleurs de lis no less! I love those) are really beautiful, too.
I like how well the books fit together despite having very different colours and animals. The heraldic pose and style connects them really well visually.
I'm really glad you like them (and yeah, I love fleur de lis too ^^)
Thank you...as for the tutorial, it exists for quite some time now...look at my gallery, bottom folder on the left side...it should be there
