Well I rarely photograph portraits, but wanted to try something different and play a bit with filters (camera and PS both), so here's the result. My aim was simple, to catch the feelings in the eyes, nothing more. So everything else is sporadic. Model is my sister Daniela, who kindly agreed to pose, so credits for expression go to her ;)
There was one more, but I deleted it eventually, thinking it's better to be one in color and one b&w ;)
Oh, yeah, and do take a full view, small one just don't give a justice.

I agree. And it is not a bad picture. I think this is the best version. The blury filter and the black/white effect works really well. Since the title cooperate so well with the picture, and the title/theme is "distant", the idea of putting a soft/blury filter works really great. It makes her seem even more distant.

Yeah, I thought blurry filter will add to "distant" look. Also, I almost always prefer b&w portraits over color ones :)

Black/white should be used more carefully than most people do. But it often works well for portraits. It works very well here.

Tell Daniela she is lovely. I love the translucent quality of the skin against the dark hair, and the luminous reflection of the window in her eyes.
